hi, if the problem persists then the next solution is trying to disable a few start up/services programs.
The problem is where the game is trying to access memory stored on the ram only to find someone else there.....in non technical language
Here's what to try...
open the run command and type "msconfig"
select startup
Disable program like Java, Quick time.....all non essential ones.
then select the services tab
check Hide All the Microsoft Services box at the bottom
Here you can decide what to disable, for a more detailed look goto Here...try not to disable something that you need....
Good Luck. .....by the google of it this is a long standing WoW problem
Well I Ran memtest for 8.50 hours last night with the RAM set to 833 MHZ
Sadly it came back with 539 errors so the slower RAM setting has not improved it.
Lokhup I already run windows with practically nothing in the start up and services, it's something I've always done so as to squeeze as much performance possible. (thanks for the tip)
I never had a problem with this on my older pc which was no-where near as good as this one and the problem isn't just limited to WoW.
But surely until I can run Memtest with 0 errors that would point to a problem with my RAM?
I'm going to try and take out a stick at a time as RH suggests and see what happens then.
I've really got to get this sorted now, it's driving me insane.
