Bit of a n00b question but hey I dont want to damage my wonderful new rig. Have a skulltrail system with watercooling however the mcubed T-balancer appears unconfigured. I read in the forums this is preset and only to be altered on failure/issues.
My question relates to monitoring and control of temperature and whether there is anything additional I need to setup? I regularly leave my box on overnight or 2/3 days to download work/other files. CPU usage is approx 30-40% constantly and I don't want to damage anything. Does the t-balancer and/or bios have shutdown temp limits if things get too hot?
however the mcubed T-balancer appears unconfigured
As you have read elsewhere on the forum, the T-Ban is pre-configured.
That's it! Power on, and go! No worries.
Vadim has setup the T-Ban for your system accordingly.
They usually disconnect it, which does not disable the unit, as the settings are stored in the hardware itself. Meaning you could take it out and place it into another PC and the settings will be the same.
They may have also uninstalled the T-Ban software because some people venture there and play with the settings and screw them up, getting themselves in a mess, and then, are a headache to Vadim because of their own wrong doing, not Vadim's.
As you say,

You could always ask Vadim what software they recommend for real time temperature monitoring, if you wish to monitor, but this will only add to the resources running all the time, is it worth it?
Saying this, some temperature monitor software are more accurate than others depending upon what specifically you wish to monitor. Again I suggest asking Vadim since they have built your system.
Answering your question;
running your pc 24/7 will be fine, even if you are downloading regularly. The T-Ban will automatically adjust fan speeds according to the temperature changes because of the load on the system.
Your system will have had temperature sensors setup on the CPU, GPU, HD and SYS (the cases inside ambient temperature).
The four sensors will regulate the fan speeds accordingly. (The fans have been setup in relationship to what they are cooling).
All this will be dependent upon your watercooling package.
CPU temperature sensor will be set to adjust the fans on the radiator that pertain to it,
and so on for the rest, whether it be radiator with fans or just a fan that is cooling the HD and the System case.
Yes, The T-ban has been setup to alarm you should temperatures rise too high.
The CPU does have built in thermistors which shutdown the pc when the threshold temperature is reached.
The T-ban has been set to alarm you well before the CPU thermistor temperature is ever reached.
Again you can always ask Vadim what these tempearture thresholds are.
Lastly, Vadim's watercooling is the best, in my opinion, so don't worry, enjoy your Vadim, because they are awesome!
Hope this has helped to bring understanding,
and more so,
peace of mind
Hey thanks RH, that has pretty much answered all my queries really, great info.
What I meant by the T-ban appearing to be unconfigured is that I can lauch the T-ban application that is installed but it does not measure or monitor anything. Obviously the hardware is still operating but not controlled by the app as disconnected. If I don't need to touch this then fine but it just seemed strange that Vadim did't remove or notify me about this.
Also the system does generate a lot of heat outside the box even just ticking over, I wanted to ensure that inside the case things were as they should be, short of sticking my hand/head in there I thought the T-ban software would tell me that. I did find some monitoring apps on the other forum post that helped so am satisfied I can leave on all night now.
Yeah MeMateBigDave, you have a custom built room heater that doubles as a awesome Vadim PC.
About the T-ban, Vadim may mention this some where, I think in their FAQ's.
If the software is still present, then Vadim must be leaving it installed incase it needs to be addressed in the future.
It is easier for the user to just plug in the appropriate connector, which has been disconnected, than look for the software and install it, because many usually miss place the disc with the T-ban software.
You can always ask them how to re-connect the T-ban connection so you can monitor the temps, but from what I know about the T-ban, and it's monitoring temp, it's not really worth it. Vadim has set it up and it's under warranty so for me that's good enough.
I personally use another software myself for temp but my system is air-cooled and overclocked so I like to be aware because it is air-cooled. If I had a water-cooled Vadim, I wouldn't worry about it or monitor it unless I was tweaking it finding the extreme overclocking sweet spot.
I'll have to wait as I save my pennies for my furure Vadim with extreme water-cooling and extreme overclocking.
I enjoy dreaming of this as I save my pennies.
Anyway, enjoy your Vadim.
Post some pics if you can, hopefully pics of the inside.
