Could be real fun...IF they get the feel right!! Cool

It all takes place in the Pacific Theatre (and partially in Russia's advance into Berlin)

The official name for the next COD title is in - Call of Duty: World at War. Yes, the number "5" has been dropped.

Quote:
According to Official Xbox Magazine:

"This is a scarier Call of Duty than we've ever seen," Treyarch head Mark Lamir says in the mag.

To help simulate the Japanese's different style of warfare, Treyarch has completely re-tinkered the enemy AI in World at War. Instead of taking cover and flanking in traditional European battle strategies, the Japanese hide in trees, sneak through the overgrowth and scrabble, katana in hand in violent suicide attacks.

"We figured out early that the Imperial Japanese fought in a different way that was full of suspense," creative lead Rich Farrelly tells OXM. "From that point we started to skew the game in that direction."

Quote:
From videogaming247:

“There will be co-op for the first time in a Call of Duty. Also there will be vehicles and squad-based elements to the multiplayer. Formats: PC, PS3, 360 and Wii. The Wii version is being worked on by a separate team within Treyarch. [The mag] reckons it’ll be a much closer comparison between the next-gen and Wii versions than any other Wii game on the market."

“Jeez, they have the CoD4 engine running on the Wii apparently. They are using [the CoD4 engine] for all the next-gen ones too. The Wii Zapper will be supported."

“Also, this is how gritty it is: ‘The opening scene of the first level we are shown is a Japanese commander stubbing a cigarette out in the eye of a prisoner before slitting his throat - the blood splatters and dribbles down the side of the tent you are being held in. He turns towards you to deal out the same treatment but help arrives just in time. Cue a daring level-long escape.’”

I too have been await this fith edition to the COD series and I personally love the World War era however it will not be Infinity Ward producing the game as with COD4 so I have some major aprehensions about it. Sad

You'd be suprised how a nice game engine can be used to the extreme and work so well (COD4) in one companies hands and in anothers hands it can turn into poo. Lets hope it all works out

Morning all i hope everyone is well ? I haven't been about for a week or so due to my liver treatment , which is really bad at the moment so I've been in bed most of the time its made me very unwell and very depressed but hopefully will ease off soon . Anyway , I also have been awaiting some news on the COD front , as i heard a while ago that another COD should be out soon ( i was told this month or next ?) I'm with you on this one wolf , i have some reservations as infinity ward are not involved or producing it but hopefully it will turn out well Sceptical we'll have to wait and see ! But there are also some other good games coming up in the next few months . I'm looking forward to Alone in the dark on the 20th of this month on the PC Hurray! it looks very good , ie the physics environment / player interaction etc .. Also metal gear solid is out on Thursday !!!! cant wait . And on the 27th Battlefield bad company is released ! I loved this game i was lucky enough to get a beta key on the 360 for the gold rush multiplayer mode and it was a great fun . very destructible environments !! i enjoy the whole battlefield series , sadly in this one you cant jump out of your helicopter or off a building and use your parachute to land safely ( a very minor thing but a lot of people are very angry there's no parachutes this time round ! you can never please everybody ! i hope you are all well guys ? Clocker 1 Bravo!

Thank you Fruim , i have sooo many things on the liver i could start a book store Laughing Its an amazing organ ! hopefully this treatment will work or at least help . The trouble is i have Severe or chronic i Liver disease : ie i am symptomatic , i have Jaundice and basically flu like symptoms all the time . I have Genotype 1B which is very hard to treat effectively ( it has a bad response rate ) And the specialists are very doubtful it will start to respond positively ( which is not what you really want to hear from your DR !! ) But I'm staying positive and there is always someone worse off than yourself .
