We've been scratching our heads for the past year as to what to do when new products launches are upcoming. According to the Vendors NDAs (Non Disclosure agreements) we can not publish in advance any specs, pictures, prices etc and we like to stick with the rules.

So we came up with a soluton to all this - the idea of having an option to order the PC without a CPU/VGA and have it built, but wait till the new card is launched and then install and ship it without having to wait weeks. So to be more specific, we all know that Nvidia and ATI is releasing some new cards this month and now we have the option to select 'Build without VGA and wait for next generation card release'
Once the system is built and the new VGA is released, we can simply add the new card to the total, integrate it all in and within days of the new card releases, our customers can be proud owners of a Vadim system with the latest VGA card shotly after the official launch.

Would this mean we would have to pay for it while we are waiting for a new card etc? which could take a couple of months with new drivers.

Nice idea though Vincent.

I think you are missing the point fruim, the release of the new cards are imminent, Vadim already know the specs and probably have at least one of the cards at the moment with up to date drivers but are bound with the NDA they have with nvidia. You are looking at a couple of weeks. So on a standard build rather than wait for all parts to be released then start a 10-15 day build, the build can now start immediately and just stick the cars in when they are officialy released thus saving the end user (us) from waiting any longer than we have to.

A great idea Vincent Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Might need some sort of guide price to help with budgeting for parts - it'd be a killer if that next gen was just too expensive, having endured the torturous wait, and could have gone for a cheaper part and beef up something else.

Nice idea though! Bravo!

thanks guys, As Wolf said - the way this works is that you dont pay for a VGA upfront - you just pay when its released on the day of release as to get the allocation. And again, if you are not happy with the next card release, you can stick with it.

I think you meant something completely different than what this sounds... probably a better explanation? Wink

What would we pay in the beginning? if it was too expensive the new technology? could we change something else? what would be the process?

I must say that I love the idea and inovative as always... good job. But now the details need to be understood.

sorry, rushed a bit Smile

I meant if you dont like the pricing or the performance of the new cards, you can always select an older model instead as long as it happens shortly after the launch. All you pay is just the additional cost of the card - be it new release or old card

Would the card be nVidia / AMDs "best of breed" card? ie the rumoured top of the range part?
