I bought from Vadim 4 x 32 GB Mtron SSD hard drives and configured it in a RAID 0 stripe, but my HDTach benchmark is still sub SATA 1 speeds. My maximum speed is about 140 MBits/sec, but what does make it nice is that there is virtually zero delay seeking from one file to the next, so in general operation there is a vast improvement.
I had to get a LSI SAS Controller to be able to use the drives though, and this adds an additional 20 seconds to my BIOS completion so I've actually SLOWED DOWN my boot process rather than sped it up.
It's still nice though, people think I'm leet because I have them Here is my current specs:
Supermicro X7DWA-N, 2 x Quad Core Xeon X5355 (2.66 Ghz per core), 32 GB DDR2 667 Mhz ECC Dual Channel FB Dimms, Windows Server 2008 X64 Enterprise, 4 x 32 GB MTron SSD HDD's (SAS RAID 0), 4 x 1 TB SATA II 7.2K HDD's (raid 5) , NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 1GB graphics card, Zalman Resorator 2 Cooling, Coolermaster Stacker Case, 4 x DVD Writers (2 SATA 2 PATA), Dell 30" Widescreen (2560x1600)
