Started getting a few BSODs today. Sad
Its the old IRQL not less or equal than error.
Tested my memory with memtest (individually then both together) and found no errors. Snot done it again for a while, any suggestions?

Funny i had just the same problem couple of days ago, i fitted a zalman vf1000 led cooler to my 8800 and one of the thumb screw didnt clear the memory slot properly and knocked the clip, strangley it worked for hour the first night then i noticed the clip open on the memory slot, then next day i got IRQL and page fault on non paged area etc.
Anyhoo as you say you did memtest with different ammounts of memory in, and that its not done it again i would say it was probably bad seated memory stick, as i now i dont have any probs either after re-seating my memory.

chameleon - also check what updates have been applied automatically by Microsoft recently. Often I find that a driver has sneaked past my usual vigilant watch and is causing a problem.

"IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL TO" is usually a driver error or memory problem and I would recommend updating the drivers on your system, as memtest had passed.
However the error code from the BSOD can tell you lots, this is just from my previous experience
I am had the same issue at home, my computer would just BSOD for no reason usually when on line or playing a MMO, I updated my graphics and my network driver and this seams to have solved the problem

hope this helps Very Happy

Poop! I spoke too soon. I just got another BSOD with "BUGCODE USB DRIVER" this time. It never seems to be the same thing twice? I dont know whats going on.
Come to think of it, there has been a couple of windows updates recently. How do I check what has been changed recently?

To check what windows update has installed go to control panel-> add or remove programs. ensure that show updates box is checked at the top of the window, this will show all updates added to your system. If you select the updates and click "click here for support" it will take you to the release notes.
I hope this helps.

The last time I had this was when Windows downloaded a 32bit driver instead of a 64bit driver. Removing the offending driver and installing the correct one resolved the issue.

With this particular error, the offending driver has always been associated with a USB device that I had plugged in. Have you installed any USB devices recently? If so, this is probably the first thing to check.

Ive restored back to about a week ago to counter any updates Ive had recently. I got another freeze this afternoon. I seems to be half n half between BSODs and system freezes. Also seems to throw up a different error each time. One thing I noticed in Eventvwr is a device error on a HDD:
The driver detected a controller error on \device\harddisk2\D

I think this was just prior to the lockup...
