If I wanted to restore my version of XP...(i have two OS's also vista 64)..from the X-image backup that vadim gave me, will it restore all of the drives including my vista one...also the third drive as well....... a ‘Complete PC restore’ ..as i only want to restore XP
I havent any experience with Vadims x-image but I would imagine you would have an option on what os to restore and also which partition to restore too. I would be surprised if this wasnt the case.

sorry for the delay
the x-image will completely restore the pc so that's both O.S from when the x-image was made. If you only want vista to be x-imaged then you will have to image just the drive with vista on it, however if you only want xp imaged then other software will need to be used.
But if you want to go back to a "factory default" then reformat partition and reinstall windows is always the best option.

That depends on the software used to do the image. As I don't have an X-Image or a Vadim I can't help much but even if there isn't an option there are always ways to do it. I will wait until someone from Vadim answers...

When an image is taken through X-image all drives will be imaged so it will recover the system to how it was when the image was taken, so that will be all drives/partitions, so yes it will wipe the other drives.

Hi,
I think the FAQ definitely needs to be clarified and enhanced (including some screenshots). It's far from clear what the capabilities of X-image are, how flexible and configurable it is, and what it's relationship is to the normal Vista X-image/ImageX and WIM format (Also, what X-Image instructions come with the PC ?).
For example the FAQ says :-
"3) To finish the process you will be asked if you would like to ‘format and repartition disks’. Tick the box to select yes (all data that has not been saved either on an X-Image or elsewhere will be lost) followed by ‘Finish’"
... which sort of implies that data destruction is optional - yet the replies here imply that it's not.
I'm due to take delivery of my first vadim pc soon () and want an initial (and subsequent) Vista and XP backups which I can restore bits or all of anywhere (ala Acronis TrueImage).
