A Lian Li PC-P80 case, but with an artistic rectangular window revealing the motherboard area. Additionally, I would like 3 120mm case fans (or 92mm if the 120mm one's cannot fit) to be horizontally installed at the bottom of the case (in the side panel where the window is installed of course), with the proper ventilation filters installed in the case itself.
Is it possible for you to order this case and customise it as i've described above?
The window pannel is not a problem. as for the fan holes, that will have to be discussed before you place your order. This case is out of stock with the suppliers now, but yes, we can order one for you when you are ready to order.
Thanks for your input and sorry that I posted this thread in the wrong area.
I do have a few other questions though:
1) I would like to order this case (from you naturally) early next month (around the 1st week) so how long would it take for you to get the case in and to complete the customisation?
2) I live in Oxford so it would not be a problem for me to come down to Harrow to discuss my requirements. Is this possible?
3) In addition to the window (and possibly the inclusion of the fans), would it be possible to have a small firey red background airbrushed on the side with an Aston Martin DB9 Volante airbrushed on top of it?
Hi Paddyw01, many thanks for your interest and questions regarding customisation. This is my area of expertise, so happy to fill you in with the answers...
Ok, the Lian-li P80 case... very nice, and very new. We actually haven't had too much call for using this, probably due to the fact its a little awkward to watercool...no room for our trademark Quad Radiators... but this doesn't mean we can't help to make you your dream PC!
Technically, it would be fine to cut the window, and place it in exactly the right space to view the motherboard in all it's glory, and also the extra 3 fans at the bottom shouldn't be a problem (although i've not attempted this before, so as long as there is space) cutting 3 seperate blowholes.
Generally we say that just a customised case will be ready in 3-7 working days from when the case arrives in stock and you will need to order the cutting and the acrylic panel or mesh aswell.
The addition of custom airbrushing is possible, but be warned, it does come with a hefty price-tag...we could always match the Aston Martin specialised colours and custom car paint the case
And lastly, we usually do all communication via email and the occassional phone call so we're on the same page...but you're more than welcome to collect your one-off case once it's made to make sure there is no damage in transit!
I have been thinking about having 3 fans installed at the bottom of the side panel below the window, but on second thoughts, I believe that it may not be the best option for airflow and for easy maintenance. I have looked at your range of fans and I was wondering if it would be possible to install 2 Zalman ZM-OP1 fans underneath the HD cage at the very bottom of the case, and, either a further 2 Revoltec 120mm dark red UV fans underneath the motherboard area, or 4 80mm ones. Is this possible? I guess this would be less hassle for you anyway.
Furthermore, how long would it take for the case to actually be delivered to you?
Ordering the cutting, the acrylic panel and mesh would not be a problem either. Talking about the window (I guess you refer to it as the acrylic panel), I have been thinking about having the window surrounded by airbrushed flames like your ‘Precise machine-cut flames for meshing’, only without the meshing. Is this also a possibility?
After all this, I don’t think I’d like to have the Aston on second thoughts. I think the side panel would be full of goodies with all this.
Regarding the emails, it would be good to further communication via emails from now on, but I sent an email a few days ago and I got no reply. Do you have an email address where I could keep in contact with you directly?
I appreciate your invitation for me to come and see the case before it is sent in transit. That would be great!
Lastly (for now atleast), could you provide me with a rough estimate as to how much all this is going to cost?
I don't mean to be annoying or anything, as I realise you all must be busy, but I would be grateful if you could answer my queries when you have the chance.
My apologies for not responding earlier...this job does keep me very busy...not that it's hard work playing with toys all day !!
In response to your queries, are you building an air-cooled system or are you water-cooling anything? I ask, because obviously it is better to keep the air flow moving in and out of the case (esp the rads need fresh air), hence the need for mesh in the panel. If it's only air-cooled, although having extra fans blowing always helps, its not necessarily needed and we can use plain acrylic behind the flames like you suggest.
To be fair, like I said we haven't had much call to use these particular cases, so as for room beneath the HDD or at the bottom by the mobo...until I have it in front of me, its very hard to give a definite yes or no...sorry!
Also, I believe that this case is still out of stock with our suppliers, but I will try to get a more definite date for you.
Many thanks and you can contact me via email through richard at vadim.co.uk if you would like to discuss this further.
I'm just wondering whether you are receiving my emails, as I need to know whether I can buy the case seperately and have it delivered to you for modifying.
