Vincent (or anyone there, or anyone else)

Now I finally have my flat sorted, TV sorted etc etc I wanna start making my case more interesting.

Would it be quite simple to swap out my plain fans for some led ones? If so can you tell me which ones, size, options.

Any help, tips, guidance etc also appreciated

well, looking at your system i can see that you can install upto 7x 120mm fans in with no much effort - just take the sidepannels off and replace the fans. arm yourself with some cable ties btw if you like to keep the same look after replacing the fans Smile

I was thinking about maybe adding some LED fans to my rubbish computer, just to make it a little more interesting.
It is not a vadim.
I'll give the case dimensions...once I find my ruler...
External: 35cm Tall , 39.5 deep , 17.5 width.

Cant find a screwdriver to get into my case, but I was just wondering, roughly, how many I could get in, and the price. Oh, and would I need more power. Im not sure how big the PSU is, but how much do these things use up? And, can they be double sided - sticky taped, or cable tied, onto the side of my case?

Thanks.

using sticky tape or cable ties might work but the fans would probably vibrate alot which would cause a lot of noise. If you are just trying to make your case look better then and dont need any extra airflow just get something like these:

All cases are different...and Big Brand cases more so than most.

Basically you can't just put a an anywhere, it has to either replace a fan that you currently have in your system, or you have to literally cut a whole to put it over, but that's very complicated.

If you sticky tape it for example, you firstly wouldn't be able to see it, and as R3pta said it would be very noisy, and in the end probably fall off doing who knows what damage.

You need to get into your computer and measure the size of the fans and compare those to the ones Vadim sells. It usually only requires four screws to get the fan out, and then replace it with the new one. It should even plug into the same connector on your motherboard for supreme simplicity.

Right, well il have a look inside.

I was wanting to going to get one or two led fans, to either replace or add to my fans. I would then see how much space I have when I get my vadim. (Probably next christmas or later Sad - when I have the money) and depending on how much space there was, I could use the led fans, plus the case fans in my vadim.
I shall see how much space I have.
I have little holes in the side of my case, just for looks and cooling really, I could attach a cable tie there I suppose... Something like this would be able to be double sided sticky taped to my case wouldn't it?

I really wouldn't ever tape a fan, it's just asking for problems IMO.

It would rattle around loads because it would be insecure, and eventually the tape would give out; if it fell it could damage lots of components in your PC.

You would also need to check if you are not replacing a fan, but adding one that you have spare fan connectors on your motherboard.

Well, unfortunately, I have tried to get into my case and it has these dodgey nut type of things, down the side that I want to be in to, so I may have to go look around the house to find a crowbar to get the case open.
After not being able to get into the case (havent tried the crowbar yet) I looked on the website of the manufacturer of my pc, and, as I guessed, they dont have it on sale any more. It is about 4 years old.
So, I'm going to look for something that will open my case.

I have one side in my case, which is totally free, nothing on it at all, just those little tiny holes, where I could put a cable tie through.

Ok Jk.

I'll just have to get the case open first, then I can inspect everything.

I've tried getting into the case, but it has these sort of stud things that keep it together. I have tried and allen key, of the right size, with no prevail as it is a sort of cone shape, inside the stud, which the allen key obviously can't grip onto. The sides of the studs are like a nut. I tried to twist the stud with plyers, but the sides are at an angle, so the plyers just slip off.

I am trying to remember how my dad got into the case when the ram chip was dislodged. I might be missing something but it doesn't seem possible (apart from the way that my dad did it, obviously).

Can anyone help?

Oh, and sorry for tripple posting Sad
