Vincent...lads/lasses who can gimme an idea....

If i go for the antartic cooling with a nice cpu cooler what sort of overclock could i expect to get on the go6600 quad??

If i go for the premier watercooling (cpu/vga)..what sort of overclock could i expect to get on the go6600 quad??

Finally...would watercooling a 8800gt be worthwhile or would you just suggest going for the 8800gts...??

Thanks in anticipation peeps Cool

Ps:i realise every chip is individual..im after a closeish ballpark figure Twisted Evil

pps: i will be using the x38 formula board or the p35 wifi premium
and 8500 ram...

I think it would depend on what ram and board you have, and how much cool air you have going thought your case. 3.6g?

For the cpu, a ball park figure using air cooling is 3.6 ghz with the G0 stepping. I would expect at least a stable 3.8 or possibly 4.0ghz when watercooled. As for the graphics I would pick the GTS every day of the week Very Happy

That sounds about right; after all, Vadim are the overclocking masters and could definately take it to around 3.8GHz with water and 3.6GHz with air, giving you a great boost in performance. As for graphics, well if you're on a budget the new GTS would be good, as it can overclock to higher than a standard GTX, but the prices on the GTX have come down on the Vadim site, so if you want to spend a little more you can get that and overclock it. Then again, it also depends on size of the monitor you plan to be using.

My budget can only extend to a 1680 x 1050...so im thinking either the 22in samsung or the 20 in samsung for the finer dot pitch etc..

If you arent going to go above that resolution you would be mad to go for a GTX. Currently I have an old GTS and run every game at decent settings (including crysis) at a resolution of 1680*1050.

So a new gts would be excellent with upgrade potential!!
