Evenin all, ok im thinking of getting watercooling sorted for my striker extreme mb cpu and gfx card as i seem to be having a few issues with blue screen after prolonged gaming ie cod4 although not crysis strangly, im guessing heat is a possible cause plus i can oc a bit more.
my question is could someone post a few possible setups for cooling the cpu gfx and the mb sb nb mosfet etc, i have been looking but i would like a few pointers or ideas, i would like to keep the price to a reasonable lvl but without sacrificing quality . im a little lost with all the different blocks tubing rads pumps etc.
True i have looked at it over and over and struggle to see how things may fit, not too sure on the externall cooling would spoil the look dont fancy a big radbox stuck on the back or one of those reserator things , might have to look at a new case. hmmmm TJ07 or 09 maybe
im pretty fussy on asthetics never really liked the lanli cases, plus i dont need to go uber extreme would be nice though , always liked the look of your systems with the TJ07, not that i will get anywhere near that kinda look myself "i can but dream".
Any chance you could run me up a list of parts for cooling the striker MB im ok with the gfx and cpu stuff im a bit lost with NB SB mosfet etc choices!.
thx will probably get them , soon as i pluck up the courage to strip my machine down and put water near it
Penfold, so long as you approach it carefully, and make sure you have a reasonably clear idea of how the loop/s will run, it's a lot easier than you think to get it installed and running. Admittedly, there's a hell of a difference between the end result the likes of you and me are likely to produce and what the boys and girls at Vadim are going to produce, but I can honestly say that, as tatty as my rig looks in comparison, it was an immensely satisfying project for me.
Just take it slowly, and make sure that your design ideas remain certain, even if you are confronted by issues you hadn't thought of when you started. Adapt them, obviously, but unless you have a clear idea of what you are aiming for, you'll just end up with a mess and a slightly sick feeling in your stomach as you survey it.
Don't bet tempted to rush at any stage, no matter how close you are to completion. As an example, although the tubing was all cut to size, and the cutting and drilling was all done with, for some strange reason, I set the loop up with all sorts of tangles in the tubing. It doesn't affect the flow of coolant around the system, but it doesn't look as tidy as I'd like it to.
As you complete each step, stop and take stock of it, and the project as a whole. You'll see rapid, yet controlled progress.
And then you can show off to all your friends, and make them really, REALLY jealous of your computer and your wicked skillz. I know it worked for me, lol.
