When I ordered both my PC, and now subsequently a new headset from you, my first order since, both times I left a comment in the box for that function as I made the order.

Upon ordering the PC I got no confirmation that my request had been acted on, and I got the impression that my asking was slightly unnecessary as I would have been made aware should it not have been possible. The same thing has occurred this time, but I haven't asked for confirmation as this time I have just assumed that everything is fine.

However, I believe that it would be nice to be told that your request has been acted on, not just when it is not possible. We ardent forumites know you would never leave us in the cold, but for a new customer I do think that there is a lack of communication on your part as a company. If that information is requested from the customer it is given without hesitation, but I think that you should be more forthcoming with assurances etc.

I realize this would take some extra time, but it really can't take that long to simply write, 'We have noted your request and we are capable of fulfilling it' or something along those lines - even if the message was automated, it would provide some additional comfort, rather than leaving it unanswered.

So....what do we all think?

P.S This is not a criticism of any of the Vadim staff or their capabilities, simply trying to highlight a possible flaw in procedure Smile

I would appreciate it, having made an order from an unrelated company and has a comment box for extra requests.

I never got confirmation the extra request was done - it was to ensure it didn't show signs of where it came from (camera shop) and it doesn't show it was a camera - was it was a surprise gift for someone in my house. So I was on my toes for weeks while stranded in Libya wondering if it was done and couldn't ask home it if was cos it would reveal the surprise!

Gladly it was and I was pleased for that, but certainly would have been nice to know!

Now if someone want to send me a Vadim dual Xeon workstation with 16gb of ram, 8 SSDs in RAID-0, and SLI graphics in a nice Lian case as a surprise present.... Smile boogy2

Heya.
I saw your order and did not reply, because you are a forum regular and you know that we don't leave people hanging. I try to be as efficient and supportive as Kandice, it is taking time and I appologise. I have been doing my best and will do so in future. Crying or Very sad

As I said after reading my post (as I thought it could sound like I was) I was most certainly NOT criticizing you! I understand why you didn;t and that is fine, as I also said, I knew there would not be a problem. However, when I ordered my PC the same thing happened, which leads me to believe it is standard practice not to reply to requests made in an order unless there is a problem? If this is not true then I apologise, but if it is true, then perhaps you could look at changing that?

There is no need to apologise and the great thing about Kandice and all the Vadim staff is how you do make mistakes and are human. The worst thing is when you get into contact with a company and talk to a robot, so you can 100% live up to that...just be yourself Very Happy Your best is just fine Very Happy

Also, stez's example is a great one to illustrate my point; it is for this reason that I am making the suggestion Smile

hehe, communication is definitelly something we take very seriously but as you know nothing is perfect unfortunatelly, so it is easy sometimes to assume something different from what is actually expected. anyway, normally we try to confirm even if that is a simple answer, but sometimes other things take priority Smile

Either way the way i see it happened, when you ordered your PC, Russell knew that you are JK and assumed that you know that there is no room for mistakes with us and I informed Dominique personally following your pm to me that it needs to be dispatched on Thursday Wink

OK that's fine - I really wasn't complaining as I do know you as a company, and do not expect the same rigorous treatment as others may get which is fine - I take great pleasure in my personal knowledge of Vadim and you Vincent, and hopefully soon Dominique. All I was saying was in reference to others who are not so well-known, as I cannot know whether the same action would be taken. I was merely raising the issue, in case that was an area which hadn't before been considered by you, as it could be a case as stez described where it would be very much more helpful to have had a reply.

Please don't feel that you should treat me in a less personal manner due to this - it is not for me that I mentioned it. Nothing is perfect as you say, but I felt that this, if it was a problem area, would be relatively simple to sort. Thanks for taking the time to look into my history Wink and as long as standard practice is as I described then as usual there is nothing to worry about.

Thanks Very Happy

Just to point out, the order wasn't from this place, it was another friendly firm (albeit without a forums mind).

I agree Jk but with Vadim you know you are in safe hands, they had a slight delay in getting my keyboard but the lovely Dominique kept me informed the whole time. (Its a monster of a board, I love it)

We know that, which is why I wasn't perturbed when I didn't get confirmation. What I was saying was if it is normal practice for non forum members (which I could not know) then it would be something to look at changing. That's all....

I know...I always feel a bit concerned when making suggestions in case people turn round and say I'm silly and complaining for no reason Rolling Eyes Glad you agree Very Happy
