just purchased the Blastflow from Aquapcs, along with the 8800GT plate. Now I don't have any intentions of upgrading GFX anytime soon, but the main idea behind buying the Blastflow was in fact the upgradeability.
However, it seems the whole thing is quite dead? Hard to obtain, out of stock, last update/news from october 2007? There have been some new cards, for example the 3870 X2.
Like I said, not too bothered now, just wondering if you guys are planning to continue developing updates for this product or if I bought myself a darn expensive 8800GT block?
Welcome JorisS to the forums. I can tell you more next week whats hapening, but in short - the project is alive like never before
there wont be a 3870x2 plate released as the demand for these cards is too low. unless some OEM/Reseller orders at least 100 cooling plates, then we can develop it, no problems.
And glad to hear! Was starting to get slightly worried that perhaps demand was too low...
If I could make a suggestion, try and get some more blocks to reviewers and perhaps more resellers, so they spread in name and fame!
I mounted the block with 8800GT plate on my gfx, have to say I had to adapt the mounting a bit from instructions in order to get a good contact between block and GPU, but once installed the GPU is at 37 degrees or so (CPU at 33, water at 25-26), which I consider excellent for the 8800GT! Also RAM and surroundings are cool (below 37). So it simply is a very good block and a clever solution with the exchangeable backplate. It's just not too well known, I stumbled across it in some review I think.
