Untill recently we were making a free support DVD with all the drivers we had in our driver library. Every few months we were making a new support DVD. We had feedback from a few customers that didnt like all the drivers in the world on their DVD, but just what is required. As you can understand each of our system is unique and it is impossible just to have a few different types of support CD/DVDs so the only option is to iindividually burn a CD for each system. As we like to take everything beoynd the conventional we came with the idea to integrate all them drivers individually into the bootable CD we have and thus avoid the compatibility problems the DVDs have with memtest. (sometimes the DVDs do not like to run memtest)
As this takes a bit of time, we decided to make it a chargeable service:
Personally i think the price is a bit steep...£25 almost inc vat (thats almost fatality headset price!)
Perhaps £15 inc vat would be more reasonable...
Well it depends Vince... how exactly are these CD/DVD's constructed. I have done many years of graphic design/DTP and even some.... video/DVD work and as such know a fair bit on how to construct DVD interfaces etc.
Is the DVD just a data dvd with files on it or is it a autostart dvd with a nice Vadim interface that you can browser through the settings/files etc?
Also if it is the above did you use Director to construct it?
the support CD is bootable in both - DOS and Autostart Windows with navigational interfaces, yes.
DOS menu offers memtest, HD testing tools, CPU and a few other tests.
Windows menu offers a few useful programs and the link to the Drivers.
I cant tell you what did we use to make it, sorry - its been a bit of manual coding too.
Any chance of a few screen shots? (I think this would help sell it if they were on the product description too)
eventually yes, now we are just too busy, sorry
Hopefully in February we will have more time to polish all our FAQs, T&Cs etc
Now we are not worried about the sales and presenting part tbh as its important that we do things right step by step
Just brought one today via updating my Vadim Build, getting it delivered on the 4th of Feb....Tell you guys then how it looks, ease of use, and what I think....
OOOOOHHHH My ..... so sorry this completely slipped my mind...thanks for the reminder dangerdaz...
First off... Vincent would you mind if I showed screen shots of the menu (Introduction, applications, drivers, links)??????????
Really can't give anything at the moment...as I have to work with pictures!!
so I await Vincent's reply.
Also I gladly have no use for the cd YET(I hope)as my Machine is still working very well, only one BSOD and that was PowerStrip's fault.
