Hi Kandice / Vincent et al,

As an idea, is there any merit in expanding the member profile section to include the system spec's of the members machines (or specific Vadim builds)?

My thinking (other than just plain interest) is that when members are talking about gaming etc., and how specific games run (or not) you could quickly refer to the profile to check which 'core' components they were running. That way it might prompt people with similar builds to ask pertinent questions about how to improve performance (obviously more relevant to people such as myself who have limited (no) technical knowledge), or whether it's time for an upgrade.

EDIT: or for potential customers to direct questions to members with builds similar to what they are considering.

Just a thought whilst whiling away the hours until my new machine arrives Very Happy

Cheers, JP

Come on guys, surely it wpuld be easier just putting all the info into your sig? Then if you change components (which most of you will im sure) you can change it yourself rather than waiting on a Vadim employee doing it.

No it does not work like that...

1 - sig can only contain 255 characters I think
2 - You enter the information yourself in your profile and can change it whenever you want.
3 - I usually appears as a drop-down menu, which you can click on to see, but is usually hidden...

Similar to the pull down specs in the custom pc benchmark leaderboard? If so then yes a brilliant idea, I was thinking of something else Embarassed

Yes, exactly like that: where our sig would be, but in the name area of our post Very Happy

Well glad the idea has some merit, will wait and see if the peeps at Vadim think it's worthwhile when the coder has a quiet couple of days.... Very Happy
(Wonder what he / she's doing over Xmas, hmmmm..... Laughing )

In the interim I think I'll do what Wolf suggested and stick some spec's in my signature (esp given I haven't found anything else entertaining enough to fill the space with, yet)!!

Fantastic idea. Bravo. It's done on other forums, afterall, it seems a bit silly not to have one on a forum near enough dedicated to computers. Lovely jubbley.
