Excellent review and great pictures eternal_fantasy. I gave you a rate last night before you had even finished posting I was that impressed by what I had read that far! Great pictures and a fair and balanced review. I share Nasher's concern over the fans and temp sensor, though not exactly being a noob, I would find it difficult to know where to start with fan adjustment, or knowing where a lose sensor was attached.

PS What are the SSD's like in terms of performance?

I wouldn’t worry about the fans Nicholas, as was posted in the review, the settings wasn't perfect because they were rushed to get the machine to be delivered on time.

And the SSDs, what can I say? I will need to get back to you on that as I have spent all this week doing the review, and haven't played any games. But just as a hint of the performance, after turning on the PC, and going through all the usual Boot sequence, the Windows Vista loading bar appears for about 1 second before seeing the desktop. Very Happy

"Noticeable incombatibility now for me is that I cannot use my computer to sync with the iPhone Touch, and that some older games' copy protection system don't play nice with the 64-bit OS."

Two Points: aw Sad I'm getting an iPhone in January when my contract expires, and my new system will be Vista 64 bit (to allow for 4GB RAM) - how annoying it won't sync! Do you think an Apple update would fix this?

Second Point - having the Vadim you just purchased plus fact you have an iPhone, I don't imagine you're a man that drives anything less than a Bentley, Maybach, Phantom or the like?!!! <<< This can be rhetorical as don't wanna invade on the thread!

Enjoy the new system Mr. Green

Ops sorry, I ment "iPod" touch Embarassed Although iPhone also cannot sync with 64-bit Vista.
Don't count on apple to try and fix this in a hurry though, probably a few more of those "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac" Ads before they throw in a fix.

A question re the fans in the lower section of the case, are they not led lit? I thought I'd seen older Vadim rigs where the lower section is lit up, but your's isn't, was that a choice or don't they do the lower section lit anymore?

I guess that's question for both eternal_fantasy and the Vadim Staff.

"Additional Customisation:
Vadim Logo water-cut into front door + LED Mod
Akasa amber fan on radiators
Repack Cooling 5.25" with UV LED reservoir for second loop
Black-Out film on the case window acrylic (Was not implemented)
Water-cool RAM modules"

Did you add this into your Additional Comments? because I cant see the "Addintional Customisation" bit anywere in the Custom PC builder.

I think they're just seperate requests to Vadim after you've placed the order, maybe.

The reason I am asking is because the "Vadim Logo water-cut into front door + LED Mod" looks so awesome!

This was something I requested, because firstly I like to have an understated look to the machine(hence the black-out film), and secondly, I thought that the fans with LEDs might not be as quiet/good as a dedicated quiet fan, and because there are SO many fans in this PC, I opted to go with the brilliant Akasa Amber fans.

The "Additional Customisation" was what extra little things we decided to implement after my order went through. The only additional comment I added at the time of purchase was how to setup the drives and partitions.

You’re are exactly right Very Happy

The Vadim Logo was something I saw in the 2006 Dream PC, but subsequent PCs produced by Vadim just has a uncut front panel, with just a Vadim sticker. And I thought, "what is a Vadim PC without a big Vadim in front of it, and lit up?!" So I asked around (or actually they did, as apparently they didn't do that cut for a while). Fortunately they can do that for me free of charge, as I have already paid for the "Precise machine cut window" option. And there you have it!

Hopefully I’ve answered your questions, was having a nap so couldn't get back to you guys! snore
