I have 5.1 and this headset and as far as gaming goes, I prefer the headset. It just cuts out all background noise so you are completely immersed in the game. As I said before the sound quality is so good it just doesn't sound like its coming from haedphones at all.
For movies and general music listening I still favour my speakers but for gaming, defo the headphones everytime.
I have had a few headsets over the past couple of years and although I havent wore these ones for a substantial amount of time I have to say that they are by far the most comfortable ones I have owned
Kandice I am astounded you could not work out how to get the microphone working...
...and you fixed it so quickly I've been sitting here for an hour and have only finally got it working. Every app has been set as the default microphone to be X-Fi 'What U Hear' and I only just realised I should be changing that
However they are still comfortable after an hour which is good.
The only problem is they seem pretty awful for music as I like listening to music while I'm playing The microphone also seems quite quiet to me, as I barely got into the 'yellow' on MSN set-up wizard, but for the price they seem really good. I'm pleased
Well i folded to peer pressure and picked up a pair. They are great!! Comfortable for long periods, great sound quality and a good mic. Well worth the ££

Can you give us some more details on that mate?
Yeah...it just sounds rubbish...
I can't really say more than that. The sound is very washed out...it is really good for hearing small details in game, but if you want to listen to some loud music it just sounds as though its struggling to keep up. I am comparing them to some considerably more expensive headphones however, which are not designed for gaming, but for general usage, which offer much better range, power, and 'virtual' surround sound.
